About us

The NLYH Boat Club was established in January 1967.  Our mission is to promote and conduct boating, fishing and social activities and comradeship. To assist those new to boating in familiarizing themselves with local water, markers and general rules of boating with emphasis on safety to the residents of NLYH. 

Our monthly club membership meetings are held on the 2nd Wednesday of each month from November - April held in the NLYH Club House. Discussions include business of the club,  upcoming activities information, a guest speaker from area businesses, charities, and organizations where we learn about their entity. Refreshments are provided after the meeting.

Some of the activities we do and/or sponsor are: 

• Boat trips to local areas/restaurants. Some you can travel by car. Please remember you don’t need to own a boat to be a member of the club.
• Once a month we have a Landlubbers Party outside the clubhouse where the club provides the main portion of the meal (burgers, dogs, brats, lobster rolls, pork, pig roast, etc.) and members bring a dish to share.
• The Boat Club has a Christmas Party, a dinner dance, and the Commodore’s Ball. Beer and Wine are usually provided.
• We arrange for the US Coast Guard Auxiliary to perform vessel safety inspections on site.
• We provide a fishing tournament annually with several fish species. Each month winners in each category are awarded a cash prize with a larger end of year prize for the biggest.
• We have donated monies toward safety items around the NLYH community including supplies for the clubhouse, and even helping the Corporate Board with items of interest to both that board and our club members.
• Our Apparel Director gets our members items of clothing with our logo for purchase.
• The Vice Commodore arranges off-site trips for our members. We have traveled to Key West via the Key West Express, bus trips to horse track, casinos, gambling boat, etc.
• At our functions we usually have a 50/50 raffle, except at our dinner dances.

To attend our functions, you must be paid up member of the boat club. The annual membership fee is $10 per person due in January. Membership includes offers of 10-20% discounts from participating businesses in the Naples area.
